After studying law in Passau and Berlin and working for many years as a TV journalist for Japan’s public broadcasting network, Raphael Thomas founded the law firm Thomas Rechtsanwälte in Berlin in 2009.
He primarily advises clients from the startup and media sectors in matters of copyright and media law, as well as trademark and competition law. In addition, he counsels galleries, artists, and art dealers on all issues relating to German and international art law.
Together with the firm’s other French-speaking lawyers, he also provides specialized advice in German-French business law.
Since 2021, Raphael Thomas has served on the board of French Tech Berlin, where he supports French startups and scaleups in expanding into the German market.
